Kuwait has introduced new working hours for government employees during Ramadan. The Civil Service Commission approved a shortened 4.5-hour workday across all government agencies. Employees can begin work anytime between 8:30 am and 10:30 am, allowing flexible start times throughout the holy month. This framework, issued under External Decision No. (1) of 2024, aims to balance public service needs with the spiritual and well-being aspects of Ramadan. The commission said, "The flexibility is designed to align working hours with the specific conditions of the holy month, while also supporting efficiency and employee well-being." All departments must follow these rules strictly to ensure smooth operations without disrupting official work. Authorities emphasized, "Adherence to these guidelines is essential to maintain a balanced workflow that respects the spiritual significance of Ramadan without disrupting official operations." This schedule will apply every year during Ramadan, showing Kuwait's commitment to a responsive and adaptable government work environment.
