February 5, 2026
The district BJP Yuva Morcha handed a memorandum to Gulbarga University Vice-Chancellor Shashikant Udikeri on Wednesday. They demanded a full inquiry into alleged irregularities and poor administration at the university. The memorandum, led by district vice-president Shiva Ashtagi, accused the university of financial mismanagement and exam delays that have hurt its reputation. Key problems listed include delays in B.Ed and M.Com semester results, high fees, nepotism, and harassment in departments. They also pointed to vacant teaching and non-teaching posts and alleged irregularities with outsourced staff. Lokayukta raids and investigations have also affected the university’s image. The memorandum warned that if no action is taken, BJP Yuva Morcha will stage protests involving thousands of students to demand accountability. Leaders including Preetham Patil, Sourabh Rangadal, and Gopalakrishna Kulkarni were present during the submission. The youth wing stressed the urgent need to fix the administration to protect the academic future of students from economically weaker backgrounds.
