Former Minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao sharply criticized Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for using "vulgar" language. Mr. Rao said the CM’s words were a distraction from his government’s failures over the past two-and-a-half years. He challenged Revanth Reddy’s claim of implementing loan waivers and issuing ₹25,000 crore in interest-free loans. "The current government only continued the earlier BRS scheme of ₹5 lakh interest-free loans," Rao said. Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Mr. Rao accused the Congress government of ignoring farmers, abandoning key welfare schemes, and pushing the state backward. He called the CM’s comments during a public meeting "distressing and unbecoming". "Political criticism is common, but a person holding the position of Chief Minister should uphold values. But Mr. Reddy is resorting to crude language to cover up his incompetence," he added. Mr. Rao praised former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao for Telangana’s development and flagship schemes like Rythu Bandhu. He also alleged that under Revanth Reddy’s government, Telangana has seen "one scam per month." Mr. Rao responded to the CM’s criticism of SLBC tunnel work by saying the BRS government completed 11.5 km of the tunnel between 2014 and 2023, excluding pandemic years, while the current government had not completed even 100 metres.
