Tamil Nadu’s first glow garden has opened on East Raja Street in Mamallapuram. The garden covers one lakh sq. ft and offers both indoor and outdoor fun. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently inaugurated the site. It features an amphitheatre, food kiosks, selfie points, walkways with artificial trees and flowers, and seats that light up at night. The garden is built on land owned by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation and developed by Sunvin Mamallapuram Glow Garden LLP, which will manage the facilities. S. Rajesh from Oorapakkam said, "The sights and sounds were wonderful. I have come here with my family. My son Hridhayan says he doesn’t want to leave the place." Tour guide S. Kanniappan stated, "When tourists come here, they don’t have anything to do after dark as the monuments close by sundown. This will be a major attraction for residents of nearby villages, too. TTDC should, perhaps, consider operating battery cars and even a train/tram around the monuments." Visitors pay ₹100 to enter the glow garden, which is inside Maragatha Poonga. Entry is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For special rides like the toy train, joker toy ride, bee carousel, and crazy roller, tickets cost ₹200. Other rides include bungee trampoline, human gyro, 360-degree cycle, and boating for children, available with separate tickets. This glow garden is set to brighten Mamallapuram nights and attract tourists and locals alike.
