The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (AP-JAC), Amaravati, held its fourth State general body meeting in Vijayawada on Thursday. Representatives from various employee groups discussed long-pending issues on salaries, pensions, and welfare of government staff. The meeting approved amendments to their bylaws, including increasing State executive members and forming a women’s wing. APJAC urged the State government to officially recognise it and include it in the State Joint Staff Council, highlighting its role in protecting employee interests. Delegates thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and senior Ministers for talks held with unions in October 2025. Financially, the conference demanded the immediate appointment of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner to implement the 12th PRC, pending since April 2023, along with an Interim Relief announcement. They also asked for a clear plan to settle arrears like DA, PRC dues, GPF, and leave encashment. A key demand was doubling the honorarium for Village Revenue Assistants. On pension reforms, the meeting called for moving eligible employees from CPS to OPS, restoring higher pensions for senior pensioners, and issuing ration cards to low-income pensioners. Other points included regularising contract employees, compassionate appointments, Group IV recruitment, outsourcing welfare, and better training. APJAC Amaravati chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and associate chairman T.V. Phani Perraju spoke at the event. The new State Secretariat of APJAC Amaravati took oath during the meeting. Earlier, members held a procession from Lenin Centre to Tummalapalli Kalakshetram.
