The Union Ministry of Tourism has approved four key projects in Telangana with a total budget of ₹146.50 crore under the PRASHAD scheme. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat shared this information in the Rajya Sabha on February 5 in response to MP Anil Kumar Yadav Mandadi's question. These projects focus on improving pilgrimage and heritage tourism infrastructure. The development at Jogulamba Devi Temple in Alampur, sanctioned in 2020-21 at ₹38.90 crore, is complete with ₹33.07 crore released so far. Work is ongoing at the Rudreshwara Temple (Ramappa Temple) in Mulugu district. Approved in 2022-23 with ₹62 crore, ₹32.73 crore has been disbursed. Another project at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district was sanctioned in 2022-23 for ₹41.38 crore. ₹8.43 crore has been released and work is in progress. The fourth project is for basic amenities development at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam, sanctioned in 2024-25 for ₹4.22 crore. No funds have been released yet; the work is ongoing. These steps aim to boost infrastructure at key religious sites and promote tourism in Telangana under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme.
