The Telangana BJP on Friday launched its urban local body election manifesto titled 'Viksit Telangana: BJP Sankalp Patra 2026.' The party promised that if elected in municipalities and corporations, there would be no increase in any taxes, including house tax. Party president N. Ramchander Rao said the manifesto focuses on transparency, basic infrastructure, and technology-driven services. Building permits will be approved within a week through an online, single-window system using AI to reduce corruption. The party pledged to tackle issues from mosquitoes, pigs, monkeys, and stray dogs. It also promised 100% garbage segregation, extension of underground sewerage networks, and strengthening SHE Teams in all urban local bodies. The manifesto includes improving local community health centers, skill development centers, regular job fairs, and creating one multi-purpose park in each urban area. Protecting temple lands and removing encroachments are also key points. Mr. Rao said, "This is an action plan to transform Telangana’s cities and towns into world-class urban spaces. When amenities, infrastructure, employment, education, and healthcare improve, the quality of life improves significantly." Corruption-free governance is a core aim, with full use of Finance Commission grants and efficient administration to deliver benefits directly to citizens. Priority will be given to water supply, drainage, roads, parks, and community halls. He added, "We want to send a clear message to the people, and we believe they are ready to give the BJP an opportunity." At a campaign meeting in Narsapur (Medak), Ramchander Rao accused the rival parties of a "secret understanding." He criticized delays in probes on the phone-tapping case and the Kaleshwaram project and challenged the government to hand over the entire project to the CBI. He alleged that only three barrages were under investigation.
