Actor Jayaram Summoned by Enforcement Directorate in Sabarimala Gold Theft Case
February 6, 2026
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned actor Jayaram for questioning in the Sabarimala gold theft case linked to money laundering. Officials confirmed the development on Friday. The ED is also preparing to summon Unnikrishnan Potti, the alleged prime accused, who recently got bail from a Kollam court and was released from jail in this case.
Jayaram is expected to depose before the agency in the next few days. Earlier, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had questioned him in Chennai. The basis of the SIT's inquiry included a video showing Jayaram and Potti performing a puja together.
Jayaram had denied any wrongdoing previously, stating he had no links with the company involved in replating the gold-covered temple artefacts or its sponsors. The case is still under investigation by the special police team and the ED.
