Four Security Guards Arrested for Stealing ₹6 Lakh Copper Cables in Kukatpally

Kukatpally police have arrested four security guards for stealing 500 kilograms of copper armoured cables valued at around ₹6 lakh from a construction site near IDL Lake, Hyderabad. The accused are Lakhindra Boruah (26), Anupam Gogoi (26), Neetu Das (25), and Nabajyoti Das, all from Assam.
The theft was reported on February 4 by Ulli Kunal, a site engineer at Makuta Taranga. He filed a complaint after seven bundles of copper cables were stolen overnight. On February 5, police stopped the four men who were acting suspiciously. During questioning, they admitted to stealing the cables. All four worked as security guards at the Makuta Tripura site.
Police investigation revealed that the accused had developed habits of alcohol and smoking. They resorted to theft to fund their lifestyle expenses. Authorities recovered the 500 kilograms of copper cables from their possession.
This successful bust highlights the vigilance of Kukatpally police against theft targeting valuable construction material.
