An explosion at an imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area during Friday prayers killed at least 31 people and injured 169. The blast left bloodied bodies on the floor amid broken glass and debris. Political leaders across Pakistan condemned the attack as "cowardly" and "inhumane." Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said, "Pakistan stands united against terrorism — we will bring the perpetrators to justice." Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry highlighted the need for national unity and support for law enforcement. Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Sohail Afridi expressed deep sorrow and condemned the attack on worshippers. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi blamed "Fitna al Khawarij operating under Indian patronage" for the blast and stressed Pakistan's resolve to defeat terrorism. Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the bombing and offered condolences. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari called it "an attack on humanity, religion, and the national conscience," demanding a transparent investigation. The US, China, Russia, the UK, Turkey, Canada, Iran, Azerbaijan, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, the Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai expressed sorrow and solidarity with Pakistan. They called the bombing "abhorrent" and a "direct attack on humanity." Russian President Vladimir Putin sent letters of condolence, calling terrorism "barbaric and inhumane." Various embassies urged stronger cooperation to fight terrorism. Pakistan’s Prime Minister's spokesperson blamed India for orchestrating the attack. Globally, there was a united call to reject extremism and hatred, and to protect places of worship. The bombing has shocked communities across Pakistan and the world, renewing commitments to peace and security.
