Hailey Cheng Hei-lam, the whistle-blower behind a cheating scandal involving the MediSafe medical app, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly doxxing. The student posted on social media Friday morning confirming her arrest related to the MediSafe case. She shared a photo of a Notice to Arrested Persons showing her birth name. She said, “Due to legal and procedural considerations, at this stage I will not be able to make any comments on the matter.” A source said she was accused of disclosing personal data without consent to cause harm. Under caution, Hailey admitted to using her social media account to post doxxing content. The mobile app was developed by a Form Four student at St Paul’s Co-educational College and commissioned by her father, Dr Ronnie Poon Tung-ping, a specialist doctor. Hailey came into the spotlight last year after raising concerns about the app’s development and patient privacy.
