Six people died and three were injured when a container truck hit a bus and ran over passengers on the Yamuna Expressway in the early hours of Saturday, February 7, 2026. The accident took place around 2:45 a.m. near Sureer police station. The bus was stopped midway, going from Noida to Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, so passengers could relieve themselves. The truck crashed from the side and also ran over those standing in front of the bus. Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar confirmed six died on the spot. Among the injured, Shivkant Dubey, 46, is in serious condition at a district hospital. District Magistrate Chandraprakash Singh and SSP Kumar visited the hospital and promised full help. The victims were named Sonu (32), Devesh (32), Aslam (27), Santosh (45), Anurag (27), and Pramod (35). The district official said families would get ex-gratia compensation. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The truck driver ran away and is being searched for. Other passengers are being taken to their destinations.
