IMA Andhra Pradesh Urges Doctors to Vote in Medical Council Elections After 20 Years

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Andhra Pradesh unit has appealed to all registered doctors to vote in the upcoming elections for 13 members of the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council. The elections will be held on February 9 after more than 20 years. In a press note on Saturday, February 7, IMA AP president Sangaraju Balaraju and general secretary M. Subash Chandra Bose welcomed the State government's decision to hold these elections. They said, "We expect the newly elected council to work towards strengthening medical education in the State, ensuring the welfare of doctors and preventing unqualified medical practice." The IMA expressed its full support to the council to achieve these goals. The association also made it clear that no panel is contesting on behalf of the IMA and it remains unbiased regarding the candidates. Doctors are encouraged to exercise their franchise and choose members who will help improve healthcare standards in Andhra Pradesh.
