The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is set to launch a Schengen-style unified tourist visa for all six member countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. This visa will allow travellers to enter and move freely across these nations with just one permit. The official launch is planned for late 2026, with pilot phases expected earlier. The entire application will be done online through a dedicated portal, replacing the need to apply separately to each country. Applicants should prepare key documents like a valid passport with at least six months validity, a recent digital photograph, travel itinerary, hotel bookings, return or onward ticket, travel insurance, and proof of financial means. Additional documents, such as invitation or business letters, might be needed based on nationality or purpose of visit. Once launched, travellers can complete a single, easy online form covering all six countries. The portal will guide users to upload documents and process payments securely, with fees expected to range between US $100 to $150. After approval, applicants will receive an e-visa by email or via the portal. This PDF visa will allow entry to all GCC countries without separate permits. Print or save it on your phone for airport checks. Applicants are advised to apply at least 2-4 weeks before travel. They should also watch for nationality-specific rules and only use the official GCC visa portal to avoid scams. This new unified visa aims to simplify Gulf travel, saving time and paperwork for tourists visiting any or all of the six GCC nations.
