QUETTA: Security forces in Balochistan arrested around 180 suspects and seized a large cache of arms during operations led by Frontier Corps and police. These actions began last Saturday after attacks in several cities. The forces also killed 216 terrorists during the combing operations. Meanwhile, five bodies of laborers were found in Nushki. The laborers were from Sindh and their bodies have been moved to Quetta for handing over to their families, officials said. Nearly all highways in the region have now reopened, except the Quetta-Taftan and Nushki-Taftan highways, which were closed for several days. Traffic between Quetta and Nushki resumed after the road was repaired. Authorities have allowed travel only from 6am to 5pm and warned against night travel. The Nushki-Taftan highway remains closed because terrorists planted landmines. Security forces continue to clear landmines while road repairs proceed. Once cleared and repaired, traffic will resume on this route, officials confirmed.
