February 8, 2026
The annual Brahmotsavams began on Sunday, February 8, at the TTD-run Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram. The event kicked off with the sacred 'Dhwajarohonam' ritual, the hoisting of the temple flag atop the flagpost. This was done according to the Vaikhanasa Agama, during the auspicious 'Kumbha Lagnam' time between 8:15 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. Priests chanted hymns while traditional drums, cymbals, and wind instruments played, adding a festive tone. The officiating priest, Kankana Bhattar Balaji Rangacharyulu, hoisted the flag amid devotees chanting 'Govinda Govinda'.
TTD Executive Officer M. Ravichandra, participating in his first religious event since joining, spoke about the detailed preparations and facilities arranged for devotees. The nine-day festival features many exciting events. The highlight, 'Garuda Seva,' will happen on February 12, followed by the 'Golden Chariot' event on February 13, 'Rathotsavam' on February 15, and 'Chakra Snanam' on February 16.
Other officials joining the occasion were Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam, Chief Vigilance & Security Officer K.V. Muralikrishna, Special Officer and Chief Public Relations Officer T. Ravi, Deputy Executive Officer V. Varalakshmi, and Assistant Executive Officer M. Gopinath. The festival promises vibrant celebrations honoring tradition and faith.
