MP Kiran Kumar Reddy Blames K.T. Rama Rao for Forensic Lab Fire Destroying Phone Tapping Evidence
February 8, 2026
Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has made serious claims about the forensic laboratory fire that destroyed critical phone tapping evidence. He said the tapes and case details were kept in the lab that caught fire. Mr. Reddy suspects K.T. Rama Rao, BRS working president, of being behind the incident. He charged that the BRS and its supporters have a history of such acts. The MP reminded that after BRS lost the 2023 Assembly elections, some State Intelligence Bureau officers switched off CCTV cameras and destroyed phone tapping evidence by throwing hard disks into the Musi river. He also stated that expensive gadgets, including equipment imported from Israel, were destroyed. These statements came as Mr. Reddy responded to Mr. KTR’s claims that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy might be linked to the fire. The CM is accused in the 'cash for vote' case, with related files stored at the forensic lab. Mr. Reddy firmly said, “If there is any conspiracy behind the forensic lab fire, it will be from KTR’s side.” He warned that KTR’s family may face investigation over the phone tapping scandal. Additionally, Mr. Reddy called KTR’s accusations against the CM “cheap propaganda” aimed at gaining votes by spreading negativity. He said KTR’s charges were meant to divert public attention. Mr. Reddy also accused BRS leaders of continuously holding press conferences and running social media campaigns to defame the Chief Minister. He criticized the change from TRS to BRS, saying it hurt Telangana’s self-respect and questioned how KTR and his family could ask for votes based on Telangana sentiment. These explosive claims were made public on February 8, 2026.
