Ranipet Superintendent of Police Ayman Jamal announced that the district will be a no-fly zone on Monday, February 9, 2026. This is due to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's visit to inaugurate the district’s first car manufacturing plant at the SIPCOT complex in Panapakkam village near Walajah town. A press release said no one is allowed to fly any drones or other aerial devices in the district on that day without permission. The police will destroy or seize any unmanned aerial vehicles found violating the rule. People caught breaking the no-fly order will be charged. The permission to use drones is controlled by the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines, the release added.
