The third convocation of Jamia Al-Hind Al-Islamia took place on February 8 at Vengara. The event emphasized the need for value-based education for the survival and growth of society. This convocation ended a three-day conference organized by the Wisdom Islamic Organisation. Graduates and postgraduates from the Mini Ooty and Panakkad campuses received their sanads (degrees). The convocation stated that Kerala’s Islamic renaissance was possible due to a mix of religious and worldly education. It also praised Arabic colleges for fighting superstitions and raising social awareness. Sheikh Abul Qasim Abdul Aleem Al-Madani, a scholar from Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated the convocation. The function was presided over by P.N. Abdul Latheef Madani, state president of the Wisdom Islamic Organisation. Other speakers included MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram, KPCC secretary K.P. Noushad Ali, CPI(M) district secretary V.P. Anil, Sheikh Sufiyan from Uttar Pradesh, scholars Kunhimohammed Madani Parappur and Hussain Salafi, and Wisdom Islamic Organisation State general secretary T.K. Ashraf. On February 6, Sheikh Abdul Latheef Al Kindi, president of Kashmir Ahle Hadith, opened the conference. He urged young people to understand that knowledge empowers society to fight disorder. On February 7, P.K. Kunhalikutty spoke at a Hadith conference, saying, “people of faith must confront challenges with tolerance and wisdom.” Abdul Aziz Khadi from Mumbai started the session. Sheikh Suhaib Hasan Mubarakfoori from Uttar Pradesh led a session on Arabic colleges, praising their role in supporting Arabic language education in Kerala.
