Cyberabad Imposes Liquor Ban in 6 Municipalities During Municipal Elections

The Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh has ordered a liquor ban in six municipalities during the upcoming municipal elections. Toddy shops, wine shops, bars in star hotels, restaurants, registered clubs, and military canteens will be closed from 5 p.m. on February 9 until 6 p.m. on February 11, 2026. The ban resumes on February 13, the counting day, from 6 a.m. until the results are declared.
This shutdown covers municipalities under the Cyberabad commissionerate, specifically Indresham, Isnapur, and Gaddapotharam under the Serilingampally zone, and Yellampet, Aliyabad, and Mudichinthalapally under the Quthbullapur zone.
Within Isnapur municipality, villages affected include Lakdaram, Chitkul, Isnapur, and Rudraram. In Gaddapotharam municipality, the ban covers Gaddapotharam, Khajipally, and Madharam villages. Mudichinthalapally Municipality’s Kolthur village is also included.
The move aims to comply with election regulations and ensure a smooth voting process during the municipal elections.
