The campaign for the Telangana Municipal Polls 2026 ended at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 9, two days before the elections. The Telangana State Election Commission announced that no one is allowed to hold, attend, or address any public meeting or procession related to the election now. They also banned any public display or promotion of election content. Elections will be held on Wednesday, February 13, in seven Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities across Telangana. Key political parties involved are Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AMIMIM). These parties have already fielded their candidates and exchanged sharp comments during the campaign. Vote counting will begin on February 13 itself. After elected Ward Members take their oath, indirect elections for Mayor, Chairperson, Deputy Mayor, or Vice Chairperson positions will follow on February 16.
