Children from across Hyderabad gathered for the 'Hyderabad City Children Parliament' on February 8, 2026. The event focused on 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (SDG 11). The children discussed key city issues including air pollution, waste management, cybersecurity, disaster management, women’s safety, loss of parks, affordable housing, and urban sustainability. The young participants shared real experiences from their neighborhoods and suggested child-friendly solutions. They also passed resolutions to address these problems. Divya Devarajan, CEO of the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Telangana, spoke virtually. She encouraged the children to keep engaging with governance and community development. Academic and human rights activist G. Haragopal praised the kids, saying they showed "critical thinking and civic engagement."
