On the second day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams, Srisailam's Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple saw a huge rush of devotees and Siva Swamis. The temple town was packed from early morning. Some Siva Swamis grew restless waiting in long queues. They jumped over barricades and tried to rush into the temple. Police quickly intervened and restored order. The Swamis claimed they waited long while VIP devotees got priority. Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao spoke to the protesters and explained that only devotees who took Siva Deeksha are allowed Sparsha Darshan in fixed time slots during the 11-day festival. To give everyone a chance, devotees are paused for about two hours at intervals. Rao said there are five separate queue lines, including one just for Siva Swamis. Snacks, biscuits, and water were provided, and emergency exits were ready. Special care was taken for Siva Deeksha devotees. He asked devotees to cooperate and be patient amid the heavy crowd. Following the incident, more temple officials were assigned to queues, laddu counters, and key areas to manage the rush better. The situation was handled without further issues.
