Eight people became unwell after eating seafood at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong. The group included five men and three women who visited the Clipper Lounge on Connaught Road Central on January 31 and February 2. They showed symptoms such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting and fever between 25 and 75 hours after eating. The Centre for Health Protection confirmed four sought medical advice but none were hospitalized. All patients are now in stable condition. This incident adds to recent food poisoning cases reported in the city.
