Bollywood Pizza House in Texas Denies Illegal Hiring of F-1 Visa Students Amid Viral Claims
February 10, 2026
In Frisco, Texas, Bollywood Pizza House is under fire from a group called the Texas Investigation Unit. They claim the Indian restaurant hires only Indian students on F-1 visas, which they say is mostly illegal. The group pretended to be an Indian caller named Ravi and contacted the restaurant asking for a job. The call revealed that the restaurant hires F-1 students and pays them in cash or via Zelle. Following this, the group visited the restaurant and asked to meet the owner. The man identified as owner Omprakhash Thota denied the claims, saying "Not true." He also said he had no idea about the earlier viral phone call. The owner denied accusations of working another job at Bank of America. Bollywood Pizza House issued an official statement saying they hire anyone interested and choose candidates based on qualifications and legal eligibility. It read, "The claim stating our restaurant hires only F-1 visa students is not true. Every application is reviewed fairly." They added they have served the Frisco community for three years with quality food and high hygiene standards. It is important to note that F-1 visa students are mostly allowed to work only on university campuses or in jobs related to their field of study, not in restaurants. This dispute also comes amid broader debates about the H-1B visa and US employment rules.
