Kerala will host the Responsible Tourism (RT) Festival at Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds from February 11 to 15. The five-day event highlights the State’s success in making tourism sustainable and community-driven. Organized by the Responsible Tourism Mission Society with Tourism department support, the festival will showcase RT units from across Kerala. Around 120 stalls will offer traditional products and crafts made by local artisans tied to RT initiatives. Women-led units will take center stage, emphasizing social and economic empowerment. Visitors can enjoy authentic full-course meals and delicacies from various Kerala regions, from Kasaragod in the north to Thiruvananthapuram in the south. Cultural programs will include performances by artists associated with RT units, such as a bamboo music ensemble. Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the festival, with MLA V.K. Prasanth presiding over the function. This unique event reinforces Kerala's position as a top experiential tourism destination while supporting grassroots development.
