Kalaburagi Police Arrest Four, Recover Gold and Silver Ornaments Worth Over ₹19 Lakh in Two Thefts

Kalaburagi district police arrested two men in a house burglary in Bhutpur village, Sedam taluk. They found gold and silver ornaments worth ₹17.5 lakh and the motorcycle used in the crime. The men, Srinivas Bairgond and Naveen Kuruk from Shilarakot village, broke open an almirah at Kashinath Yenaki’s house on January 29 and stole 113 grams of gold, 444 grams of silver, and ₹10,000 cash. Mudhol police formed a special team led by Inspector Daulat N.K., under the guidance of DSP Sangamnath Hiremath. The team arrested the accused near Shilarakot bus stand and recovered the stolen items, said Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu at a press conference on February 10.
In another case, police arrested two women connected to silver ornament thefts at a jewellery shop in Sulepeth village, Chincholi taluk. Salma Begum, 26, and Shannu Begum, 25, from Bandenawaz Colony, Chidri village in Bidar district, stole silver chains weighing about 400 grams worth ₹1.45 lakh. They entered the shop disguised as customers and distracted the shop owner's nephew, Chakrapani, to steal the items. Sulepeth police registered the case after owner Ramachari Maroj’s complaint. The police arrested the women and recovered silver jewellery and cash worth ₹1.6 lakh. The accused admitted to stealing from another jewellery shop in Sedam taluk, added Mr. Srinivasulu.
