Nandyal SP Denies Police Lathicharge on Devotees at Srisailam Temple
February 11, 2026
On Monday, devotees took part in Shiva Deeksha at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam. YSRCP accused the State government of mismanagement and alleged police lathicharge on the devotees. However, Nandyal Superintendent of Police Suneel Sheoran cleared the air on Tuesday night. He stated, “No lathicharge had taken place.” The SP explained that some elderly women felt uneasy and were receiving first aid at the temple’s main entrance. When devotees tried to enter forcibly, Additional Superintendent of Police Yugandhar Babu stopped them to protect the elderly. The SP appealed to devotees, saying, “We appeal to the devotees to follow the suggestions of the police, have hassle-free darshan and return to their destinations safely.”
