The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has strongly condemned Israel's new settlement law announced this week. They called it a "recipe for increased control, hopelessness and violence" and said it breaks international law. More than two dozen Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation ambassadors said the law "would effectively be de facto annexation of the West Bank." Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian woman from Anata and a 14-year-old child during raids in the West Bank city of Hebron. The Jerusalem Governorate warned that Israel plans to limit worshippers from West Bank areas who want to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan. Israeli army raids caused several Palestinians to suffer from tear gas. Canada's Foreign Ministry also "strongly condemns" Israel’s move to expand control over the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner before meeting US President Trump. An Al Jazeera investigation reported that US-supplied munitions used by Israel have caused the death of 2,842 Palestinians since October 2023, leaving almost no remains. Additionally, 41 wounded patients returned to Gaza through the Rafah crossing after the ceasefire began but faced humiliating searches by Israeli forces.
