The Telangana Police warned on February 13, 2026, that strict action will be taken against anyone who misbehaves or tries to target police or government officials during the Municipal elections. Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy issued a statement saying illegal acts against election personnel will not be tolerated. "No one is above the law, be it public representatives, candidates or political party workers," he said. The DGP added that officers and staff are working hard to carry out elections legally. Any abuse, assault, or obstruction will have serious consequences. He advised that those with complaints against officials should approach the State Election Commission or higher authorities with formal complaints. Taking the law into one's own hands will not be allowed. Reddy also directed district police chiefs to ensure prompt investigation and action on cases against employees involved in election duty. He appealed to political leaders and party workers to support election staff, especially during vote counting, to keep the process smooth and peaceful.
