Hong Kong police arrested two people for stealing a watch worth HK$300,000 (US$38,379) from a passenger's backpack on a flight arriving from Abu Dhabi. The male passenger found the watch missing from his backpack in the overhead compartment during the journey on Thursday. Police took into custody a 40-year-old woman from Hong Kong and a 32-year-old man from mainland China for further investigation. Both suspects remain in custody. In a separate case the same day, a 69-year-old woman was arrested at airport security for carrying suspected pepper spray in her hand luggage. She faces a charge under the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance and was released on bail pending investigation.
