Bharat Mela 2026: India’s Cultural Festival Lights Up Kuwait’s Green Island
February 13, 2026
Kuwait’s coastline will soon burst into colour with Bharat Mela 2026, an open-air Indian festival. The Embassy of India invites everyone to join this vibrant event on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The venue is the Beach Front of Green Island, behind Chili’s on Arabian Gulf Street. Entry is free, making it ideal for families, expats, and culture lovers. The mela will feature nonstop entertainment with over 700 artists performing a rich range of Indian arts. Watch classical and folk dances like Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and energetic Bhangra. Enjoy live music spanning soulful Ghazals, folk songs, and Bollywood hits. Beyond performances, explore a busy bazaar of Indian handicrafts, textiles, Ayurvedic products, and mehndi (henna) art. Traditional crafts like pottery and Rangoli will be demonstrated live. Food lovers will delight in 25+ stalls offering authentic Indian flavors. Taste spicy street foods from North India, coconut-rich South Indian dishes, crispy samosas, chaats, hearty biryani, and sweet treats like jalebi and gulab jamun. The festival space is easy to reach near Green Island and fully free to enter. The celebration lasts seven hours, perfect for enjoying the afternoon sun and seaside breeze. Indian Ambassador Dr. Adarsh Swaika explains that Bharat Mela is more than fun; it strengthens the strong "people-to-people" bonds between India and Kuwait. A dedicated Children’s Play Area with magic shows and games ensures fun for the young guests. Bharat Mela 2026 promises a lively showcase of India’s rich heritage and unity in diversity right in the heart of Kuwait.
