Hua Hong Sees Memory Shortage as Chance to Raise Logic Chip Prices; Posts Record Q4 2025 Sales
February 13, 2026
Chinese chipmaker Hua Hong Semiconductor reported record revenue for the fourth quarter of 2025. The company said a global memory shortage is helping it raise prices on its logic chips. Hua Hong chairman and president Bai Peng said on the earnings call, "The memory supercycle was a positive thing as it gave the company room to raise prices on logic chips." He explained, "Memory certainly is in high demand nowadays, and that will reduce the supply on the logic side. If the supply gets tighter, it does give us more opportunity to increase prices." Hua Hong mainly makes mature logic chips, which act as the "brains" in electronic devices. These chips include CPUs and GPUs, important for tasks like AI computing. Memory chips store data temporarily or permanently. Bai said Hua Hong raised prices on some products from its 12-inch production line, helping boost 2025 revenue. He also said, "Hua Hong might still have some room to go" on price increases in 2026.
