Kerala now has three e-waste recycling plants. A new big plant started at the Industrial Development Plot, Anakkara in Palakkad. This plant is run by Sithara Recyclers Private Limited. It can recycle 39,360 metric tonnes of plastic annually. This capacity is much larger than the older plants. The Pollution Control Board approved this new facility in December 2025. Kerala’s two existing plants are smaller. One is at Peruvanthanam in Idukki district, run by Sahya Solutions Group of Waste Management. It recycles 14,965 metric tonnes per year. The other is at Ambalamedu, Kochi campus, run by Kerala Enviro Infrastructure Limited, recycling 300 metric tonnes per year. Both older plants hold Central Pollution Control Board’s EPR registration. The new Palakkad plant will greatly increase Kerala’s e-waste treatment efforts.
