Elderly Man Dies of Heart Attack After Traffic Police Fine in Gujrat

In Gujrat, an elderly man named Tahir Beig (60) died of a heart attack after the traffic police fined him Rs2,000 on Friday. The incident happened near the traffic police office on Old GT Road. Tahir was riding his motorcycle home when police stopped him and fined him for not wearing a helmet. He told the officials he did not have the money but they refused to spare him. Tahir then walked towards GTS Chowk to arrange the fine amount. However, just a few meters away, he suddenly collapsed and died on the spot. Eyewitnesses called Rescue 1122, but doctors confirmed his death. Police shifted Tahir’s body to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH). A Gujrat Police spokesperson said doctors confirmed the cause of death as a heart attack. The District Police Officer (DPO) of Gujrat ordered the SP (investigation) to conduct a full inquiry into the case.
