Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced an ex gratia payment of ₹5 Lakh to the victim's family. The Mayor will visit the site. Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad criticized the safety measures, asking, "Has the life of Mumbaikars become so cheap?" She questioned the lack of safety for traffic on the busy road below during construction. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray also criticized the government on social media, saying, "Life has no value under the BJP regime." He doubted strict action against the contractor, hinting they might only face a small penalty yet secure more tenders.
