Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) organised a cyclothon on Saturday to raise public awareness about sanitation and citizen involvement. The move aims to restore Mysuru’s past status as the country’s cleanest city. MCC officials focused on sparking community participation ahead of the cleanliness rankings under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0. The event was held under the theme ‘Do Cycling Today; Build Better Tomorrow’. MCC Commissioner Sheikh Tanveer Asif flagged off the rally near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple outside Mysore Palace. Many cyclists took part, showing strong support for the cause. The rally passed through important city points like K.R. Circle, Highway Circle, and JSS Medical College Circle, ending back at the start. All participants who completed the route received medals for their commitment. Officials stressed that public cooperation is key to improving Mysuru’s cleanliness rankings once again.
