The All India Inter-University Netball (Women) Tournament 2025-26 started on Saturday at Maris Stella College in Vijayawada. Fifty-five teams from universities all over India are taking part in this five-day competition. The event runs from February 14 to 18 and is hosted by Krishna University. It follows a knock-out-cum-league format and is supervised by the Netball Association of India. Transport, Sports and Youth Services Minister M. Ram Prasad Reddy was the chief guest. He said, "Netball is more than a game. It is empowerment, confidence and friendship. These players inspire us with their skill and sportsmanship." Krishna University Vice-Chancellor K. Ramji welcomed the guests, including Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan and Maris Stella College principal Inyasamma. Mr. Ramji said the goal is to promote sports equally with education. The opening ceremony featured a march past by all 55 teams, followed by a band performance by students of St. John’s School, Gannavaram.
