PMD Predicts Rain, Thunderstorms, and Hail Across Southern Pakistan on Feb 16-17

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in southern parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is expected to reach the western parts by February 16. Under this system, light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms will occur in various districts of Balochistan including Quetta, Zhob, and Gwadar from the night of February 16 to 17 with occasional breaks. Sindh will see similar weather in places like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur starting on February 17. Gusty and dust-raising winds are also predicted during this period. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas such as Waziristan and D.I. Khan are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms on the night of February 16 and through February 17. Some parts of Punjab including Multan and Bahawalpur will get light rain with strong winds on February 17. Additionally, hailstorms are expected in northern Balochistan, D.I. Khan, and D.G. Khan.
