February 15, 2026
At least 11 people died and 8 were injured when a bus crashed into a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Sindh’s Khairpur district on Sunday. The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) said, "11 people have died so far, while another eight remain injured in a collision between a bus and a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti." They added the crash happened due to “negligence and recklessness on the bus driver’s part.” Rescue teams and motorway police rushed to the spot right after the accident. The injured and the bodies were taken to nearby hospitals. The NHMP inspector general has taken notice and asked for a detailed report. Traffic is being cleared by the motorway police to restore normal flow. An emergency control room is active and can be reached at 0719310878 and 0243640800. This accident follows another deadly crash that killed 13 people involving an oil tanker and passenger bus on the M9 Motorway near Karachi just days ago. In another tragic event in September 2025, seven family members died when a truck hit their car near Moro on a national highway.
