Bangladesh has been removed from the ICC T20 World Cup for refusing to send their men's cricket team to India. The Bangladesh Cricket Board asked to move its matches to Sri Lanka citing security concerns, but the ICC rejected the request. Bangladesh stood firm and was replaced by Scotland. This decision has upset many cricket fans in Bangladesh. Ziaul Haque Tanin, a former cricketer from Bangladesh, had planned a trip to watch the Bangladesh vs Italy match in Kolkata. All plans were canceled after Bangladesh’s expulsion. In contrast, the India vs Pakistan match in Sri Lanka was almost canceled after Pakistan’s government ordered its team to boycott. After a week of talks, Pakistan agreed to play. The match will take place Sunday at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium, thrilling fans uncertain of the fixture’s fate. Indian fans are eager but face high costs. Airfares and hotels are sharply more expensive due to late travel bookings and demand. Aditya Chheda from Mumbai said, "I paid a premium of approximately 50 percent compared to the usual rates." The India-Pakistan cricket match remains one of the biggest sports rivalries in the world, carrying deep political and national pride. Fans on both sides are excited now that the game will go ahead as planned, with both teams having won their opening matches.
