Islamabad: Roads around Parliament House were cleared on Monday as the PTI and opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-i-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) continued their sit-in over Imran Khan's health, now on its fourth day. The sit-in started Friday after the Supreme Court was told Imran has only 15% vision left in his right eye. TTAP’s spokesperson Akhunzada Yousafzai expressed surprise at the roads being cleared. He noted, “First of all, we are going to have breakfast after four days, as previously we were eating only dates and biscuits and were being forced to drink tap water.” He added that the sit-ins at Parliament House and Parliament lodges would now merge. The protests had been held at three locations, led by TTAP’s Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas at Parliament House, PTI parliamentarians at Parliament lodges, and KP CM Sohail Afridi at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House. Yousafzai said the sit-in will continue until the government meets all demands. A doctors’ team examined Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Sunday but left after about an hour. PTI rejected the inspection, calling it “malicious” since family and personal doctors were absent. PTI MNA Asad Qaiser said, “We will not compromise on Imran’s health,” and vowed to continue the sit-in until Imran is taken to Shifa International Hospital. They also plan to approach the Supreme Court for justice and medical treatment rights. TTAP leaders said they had been told Imran would be moved to Shifa hospital only if the sit-in ended first. TTAP also accused authorities of blocking food, water, and medicines to protesters for three days, calling it a violation of democratic values.
