Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began his two-day visit to Austria on Monday. He will hold important meetings and talks with Austrian officials. The PM arrived in Vienna on Sunday, invited by Austria’s Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker. At the Austrian Chancellery, Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed with a guard of honour and the national anthems of both countries were played. Both leaders introduced their delegations before holding one-on-one and group talks. PM Shehbaz also wrote his remarks in the guest book at the Chancellery. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and aide Tariq Fatemi. The visit honors 70 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Austria. According to the Foreign Office, this is the first visit by a Pakistani prime minister to Austria in over 30 years, since Nawaz Sharif in 1992.
