Dubai’s Salik Changes Toll Fees for Ramadan 2026 to Ease Traffic Flow
February 16, 2026
Ramadan 1447 AH (2026) in the UAE is expected to start around February 18 or 19, depending on the moon sighting on February 17. To match the new daily routines in the holy month, Dubai’s road toll operator Salik has announced new toll fee changes. These changes are designed to improve traffic flow and make commuting easier during Ramadan.
Salik’s new toll fee structure has set different rates for various times: From Monday to Saturday, the peak rate of Dh6 applies between 9 am and 5 pm. Off-peak rates of Dh4 are charged from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 2 am. Between 2 am and 7 am, tolls will be free. On Sundays (except public holidays and special events), a flat Dh4 rate applies from 7 am to 2 am, with free tolls between 2 am and 7 am.
These new timings reflect Dubai’s shifted Ramadan schedule, where work and school hours start later and end earlier. Many people travel for iftar and evening prayers after sunset, so lower toll rates in the evening encourage smoother traffic flow. Free toll hours during the early pre-dawn period support lighter travel times.
This toll fee update is part of a wider plan to adjust transport services in the UAE during Ramadan, including changes in parking fees and public transport schedules. Work and school timings are also reduced or shifted in the holy month to help residents observe fasting and prayers comfortably.
Drivers in the UAE should note these changes and plan their travel accordingly to avoid extra toll costs. Peak hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm with Dh6 tolls, while travel late at night and early mornings will be cheaper or free. Adjusting commute times, especially near iftar, will help avoid higher charges and ease road congestion during Ramadan 2026.
