The EAGLE Force, Telangana, together with Gachibowli Police, arrested three men involved in an interstate cocaine racket during a raid in Kondapur on Monday, February 16. They seized 32 grams of cocaine from Venkataramana Residency. The accused are 24-year-old Vegesna Murali Krishnam Raju from Kondapur, 28-year-old Bhupathiraju Chiranjeevi Varma from KPHB, and 37-year-old Rudraraju Hemanth Raju, a businessman from Vijayawada. All three come from West Godavari district. Murali Krishnam Raju dropped out of engineering due to money problems. He worked in Uttarakhand, Pune, and Goa. An EAGLE officer said, “He later began consuming drugs and allegedly turned to peddling cocaine to fund his expenses.” Murali initially got cocaine locally in Hyderabad but then changed sources to Goa and Bengaluru after a supplier was arrested. He bought cocaine at ₹7,000 per gram and sold it for ₹12,000 per gram. The accused used encrypted apps and a 'dead drop' method to deliver drugs. Payments were sent online to friends’ bank accounts before reaching him. One associate from Bengaluru helped get cocaine and bring it to Hyderabad by private bus. Chiranjeevi Varma bought cocaine from Murali and shared his contact with others. Hemanth Raju, Murali's cousin, recently started taking cocaine. All three tested positive for cocaine use. Police found 15 drug users linked to the group and will take action against them. A private bus operator, its driver, and a bike taxi rider who helped move cocaine from Bengaluru to the main accused have also been charged. Investigations continue to catch others in the drug network.
