Two-Year-Old Boy Killed in Speeding Car Crash; Two More Road Deaths Reported in Bengaluru

A tragic accident near Kithaganur main road in Bengaluru claimed the life of a two-year-old boy on Sunday evening. Vijayalakshmi, her son Badri, and two-year-old Trishan were riding a scooter from Kithaganur to Margondanahalli around 6 p.m. When the scooter stopped in traffic, a speeding car from behind crashed into it. The impact threw the child onto the road, and the car ran over him causing severe injuries. Trishan was rushed to a Bhattarahalli hospital but was declared dead. The police said the crash was caused by rash and negligent driving and have registered a case.
Passersby protested, demanding road repairs and traffic congestion solutions in the area. The KR Puram traffic police arrested the driver, Krishna Mohan Menon, charging him with causing death due to negligence.
In another incident, a 45-year-old woman named Amala died after being hit by a truck near Adugodi. She was returning from church with her son when the truck struck the vehicle she was on, causing her to slip and be run over. Despite hospital treatment, she died late Sunday night. Adugodi police are investigating.
A third fatal accident happened in HAL where 35-year-old Rajesh Sardar, a hotel worker from Assam, was hit by a two-wheeler while crossing the road. He suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. HAL traffic police have filed a case and are probing the incident.
These three deaths highlight rising concerns about road safety and traffic rule violations in Bengaluru.
