Forest Department staff captured a crocodile from a tank in Kanekal village, Yadgir district, after a 16-hour-long operation on Sunday night. Deputy Range Forest Officer Bhimashankar Ganapur said the team began the effort at 6 a.m. and succeeded by 10 p.m. The crocodile has now been moved to a safer location. Locals were scared when they saw the reptile while washing clothes and watering their animals by the river. Mr. Ganapur urged villagers near the riverbanks to report crocodile sightings immediately to prevent danger. The operation involved Forest staff Shravankumar Hosmath, Somayya, Vishwaradhya, fisherman Bhagappa, and villagers Sureshgouda Biradar Patil and Malluhouda Police Patil among others.
