The old bridge over the Vadakkumbad river at Kallampara near Feroke has been turned into a lively food street. This project by the Tourism department cost ₹98 lakh and aims to reuse old bridges for public use. The bridge was unused after a new one was built in 2006 and had become overgrown and unsafe. Now, the old bridge has fresh stone paving, repaired rails, painting, electrification, and seating. Facilities include a cafeteria, small kiosks, decorative lights, plants, and a clean walkway. The project will boost tourism in the Kallampara–Mannur Valavu area. Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas inaugurated the food street on Monday, February 16.
