February 17, 2026
On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, some schools in Mohali, Punjab, received bomb threat emails. The threats also mentioned Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Police launched a search operation immediately. A senior police official said, "The bomb threat to schools also mentioned the Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where we conducted anti-sabotage checks. Non-essential services were kept on hold while essential services continued." Police were checking schools carefully. Security was already strong around Fortis Hospital since Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted there. CM Mann was re-admitted on Monday evening after being discharged earlier that day. Sources said he experienced exhaustion. Earlier, on Wednesday, February 11, sixteen private schools in Mohali got bomb threat emails. Police evacuated those schools and did anti-sabotage checks. No explosives were found in any of the locations. This recent threat is close to earlier hoax bomb threats at schools in Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Haryana.
