An Indian court sentenced three men to death on Monday for raping an Israeli tourist and murdering a man near the Unesco World Heritage site of Hampi. The attack happened while a group of five people, including two tourists, were stargazing near the famous rocky hills and temple ruins. The three men assaulted the Israeli tourist and her homestay host. They also pushed the other three men in the group into a canal. One Indian man from Odisha state was found dead the next day. The district court handed death sentences on the murder charge and prison terms for other crimes including rape, as stated in court documents.
